Upon ratification, the new contract between Textron Aviation and the International Association of Machinists District 70, Local Lodge 774 (IAM) took effect at midnight on Monday, September 23, 2024.

The duration of the new contract is 5 years, effective Monday, September 23, 2024 through Sunday, September 16, 2029.

Q: I am a bargained employee and have been on strike. When do I return to work?
Refer to the table above for when you may return to work
All employees must return to work by Monday, October 28.
Q: Why can’t I return to work before Wednesday, October 23?
The Information Technology (IT) systems require time to update the status of returning employees.
Employees can use Earned Time Off (ETO), vacation, or Day Off Without Pay (DOWP) for Monday, October 21 and Tuesday, October 22 by contacting their supervisor.
Q: Do I have to return to work on Wednesday, October 23?
Bargained employees participating in the strike must return to work by Monday, October 28.
If you intend to return after Monday, October 28, contact your supervisor or Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) with your intent to return date.
Approved documentation will be required to avoid loss of seniority and employment.
Q: I am a bargained employee who has been on strike, will I be paid for Monday, October 21 and Tuesday, October 22?
Bargained employees participating in the strike may use ETO, vacation or DWOP for Monday and Tuesday.

No, if you participated in the strike your probationary period was placed on pause and will resume when you return to work.

Return to your normal shift on either Sunday, October 27 or Monday, October 28.
If you elect to use ETO, vacation or DOWP Wednesday, October 23 through Friday, October 25, you must inform your supervisor.

Q: I’m an SE/SNE employee who has been reassigned, when do I report back to my standard work location?
On Monday, October 21, report to the location listed in your daily reassignment email.
If you do not receive an email, report to the location you worked Friday, October 18.
Additional information regarding your work location will be provided by either your supervisor or reassigned area supervisor no later than Tuesday, October 22.
Pay
Q: I returned to work the week of Monday, October 21, when will I receive a paycheck?
If you have paid time (worked, ETO or vacation) the week of October 21, your first paycheck will be Friday, November 1, 2024.
Benefits
Q: When are my benefits active?
Upon contract ratification your benefits will return to active status on Sunday, October 20.
The benefit plan will be the same plan you were under prior to the work stoppage, unless you processed a life event through Fidelity.
There will be a delay due to data feed timing; it may take 7-10 business days for insurance vendors to update their records.
Q: What if I need immediate access to medical and prescription coverage, who do I contact?
If you need immediate access for United Healthcare (UHC), Surest and Caremark (prescription), please follow these instructions to request an Emergency Carrier Update:
- Call the Benefits Center at 1-866-698-9847, Option 1 to request the Emergency Carrier Update
- The turnaround time for these updates is typically one to two business days
Q: What are my options to fill a prescription prior to the system updating?
You may request an Emergency Carrier Update or, if necessary, pay out of pocket.
If you had coverage prior to the strike, the pharmacy should reprocess the claim through insurance once the system updates and you should receive a refund for any overpayment.
Q: What if I have an upcoming procedure (in network)?
If you had medical coverage prior to the strike, your claims will be covered by insurance.
If the claim is denied, the provider needs to reprocess the claim.
Q: I have been on strike since Monday, September 23 and returned to work. Do I owe any additional insurance premiums (medical, dental, vision and life insurance through Fidelity)?
Since you had insurance coverage through the month of September and did not work the last week of September, you will likely owe one payment to cover the last premium in September.
This amount will be recouped in future paycheck(s) at the rate of 1.5x the premium rate until the missing premium is paid.
General Wage Increase (GWI)
Q: Who is eligible for the GWI?
Bargaining unit employees on the payroll, per the contract language.
This includes bargaining employees on leave of absence.
Q: Is the GWI applied to additional pay components?
No, GWI is only applied to your base hourly wage.
All additional pay components (i.e., lead pay and shift differential) remain unchanged as separate line items on your paycheck.
Q: When will the 11% GWI take effect?
The 11% GWI takes effect Monday, October 21, 2024.
Automatic Increases
Q: Who is eligible for automatic increases and what is the amount?
Active bargaining unit employees are eligible for automatic increases of $0.30 every 3 months up to top of grade.
Q: Today I am at top of grade, am I eligible for automatic increases?
No, you remain at top of grade through the GWI and annual adjustments.
All additional pay components (i.e., lead pay and shift differential) remain unchanged as separate line items on your paycheck.
